Apurbayan B, born on July 18, 1998, in Agartala, Tripura, is an Indian optometrist, researcher, and social entrepreneur dedicated to advancing eye care and healthcare innovation. His journey reflects a strong commitment to bridging the gap between patient care, research, and community service, particularly in underserved regions of India.​
​
A graduate of Tripura University with a Bachelor in Clinical Optometry, Apurbayan went on to complete his Master of Optometry at ITM University. He has built his career at the intersection of clinical practice, research, and innovation, with a vision to make quality eye care accessible to all.
​
His professional experience includes serving as Executive (Innovation and Incubation) at the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad, where he contributed to nurturing healthcare startups and driving innovation in the ophthalmic sector (2023–2025). Currently, he is an Affiliate Researcher at the Debapriya Mukhopadhyay Vision Research Institute and Foundation (DMVRIF), Kolkata, continuing his work in multidisciplinary research and knowledge exchange.
​Apurbayan is the Founder of Eye Supervision, an organization with six functional arms—patient care, education, research, innovations, community services, and design—supported by four divisions: Eye Supervision Academy, Eye Supervision Innovations, Eye Supervision Foundation, and Eye Supervision Design Studio. Through Eye Supervision, he has initiated programs that focus on patient education, eye health awareness, hands-on clinical training, and community outreach in rural and semi-urban areas.

His contributions include proactive eye health education, facilitating access to clinical knowledge for young optometry students, supporting healthcare startups through innovation-driven incubation, and organizing community eye care initiatives. His leadership in establishing observership, internship, and fellowship programs at Eye Supervision Academy reflects his dedication to developing the next generation of optometry professionals.

​Driven by the belief that knowledge and innovation can transform communities, Apurbayan’s work is guided by the motto: empowering people with vision, knowledge, and opportunities. His vision is to combine patient care with education, innovation, and entrepreneurship to create a sustainable impact on society.Beyond his professional roles, he is an active learner with interests in coding, AI, healthcare innovation, and community-driven enterprises, including exploring agriculture and social impact ventures.
